Though it basically provides a quicker way to access your PC's display settings than Windows' Control Panel, this handy application also offers a couple of extra niceties. UIFriend sits in your system tray and is accessible via a right-click. In general, it lets you perform all functions you'd normally handle with the Display icon, such as altering the screensaver settings, toggling among display resolutions, and changing your desktop icons. The ability to access certain display settings via a hot key is a convenient bonus. We also like how UIFriend automatically saves icon layouts and lets you quickly restore them with a right-click. Despite its relatively narrow scope, folks who regularly find themselves digging into their system to tweak their display's settings will find UIFriend a useful detour.
